CWG project works will be completed on time: Dikshit
June 3rd, 2010 - 12:06 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, June 2 (IANS) Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit Wednesday asserted that the Commonwealth Games projects would be completed on time.
“All the projects will be completed on time and well ahead of the commencement of the event in October,” Dikshit said in reply to queries about the timely completion of the Games projects.
The city government is tasked with the upgradation and beautification of the city’s infrastructure keeping in view the Games, which will be held Oct 3-14.
However, she said no decision has been taken so far on asking the Central Vigilance Commissioner to probe complaints against companies assigned the work of installing streetlights.
Earlier in the day, Delhi Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Raj Kumar Chouhan warned the companies that delay in installation of street lights and use of poor quality material may be referred to the Central Vigilance Commissioner.
