Cruise ships attract 26,500 tourists to Dubai
June 24th, 2010 - 12:27 am ICT by IANSDubai, June 23 (IANS/WAM) About 26,500 tourists visited Dubai between April 6 and June 14 on cruise liners, the Dubai tourism department said Wednesday.
The Dubai Cruise Terminal at Port Rashid serviced 17 ships from across the world.
Officials overseeing Dubai’s marine tourism said the terminal has witnessed a significant increase in number of passengers, as the world-class services of the ships are attracting more people.
Among the cruise lines that contributed significantly to the increase in cruise trips to the emirate during the three-month period are the Silver Whisper, Seabourn Odyssey, Brilliance of the Seas, AIDA Diva, Costa Luminosa and Ocean Princess, among others.
