Craig Newmark, the founder of this online service for San Francisco Bay Area, it has now expanded into approximately 450 cities in 50 countries. Over 9 billion people visit the website monthly, which put craigslist the 47th among web sites world wide and 9th among web sites in the United States. It has over 30 million unique visitors with over thirty million new classified advertisements each month which includes traditional buy/sell ads and community announcements, to personal ads and even erotic services. Craigst receives over 2 million new job listings monthly which makes it top job board in the world.
“24 Hours on Craigslist“, a documentary capturing people and stories behind a single day’s posts on Craigslist. The documentary screened in nine film festivals during 2004 and 2005, winning a ‘best feature documentary’ and played in a limited, self-distributed, theatrical release in 2005 and 2006.

Craigslist is a great inspiration for all classifieds pages out there. It will be interesting to see how Craigslist international strategy will be working out. When I check out the South African Craigslist, it features a lot of foreign (Mainly USA) ads. Probably, Craiglist is pushing through content from other countries to ensure that the South African website is growing in terms of ads. South African search engines will recognize the ads as South African due to the URL (.co.za), et voila….traffic.

I will like to know other websites that people visit often like CraigsList.They may be in Usa,Uk,Singapore,Spain,Mexico,South africa and all over the world.I will like more people to know about my business.I await your prompt response.
