Dec 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Continental Airlines has announced that it will let customers hold a reservation in which they can lock in a quoted price for tickets for up to a week. This will be for those fees which vary widely. It is a service which the airline calls “FareLock”.

FareLock will give the customers up to a well in which they can decide whether to purchase a ticket and thereby avoid the increase in fares, or run the risk that the preferred flight may sell out. There will be a five dollar fee for this service for up to three days, and a nine dollar charge for holding the fare for up to a week. The announcement from Continental on Monday revealed that the amount will depend on how long the hold would be as well as how soon it would be before the travel date.

The airline did not reveal which routes the service was available for, but said that both domestic and international flights are on the list. Customers will have 24 hours to change their reservations or cancel them to get a full refund, but after that 24 hour period, the full ticket price will be charged for those who cancel.
