froWashington, May 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) McNeil Consumer Healthcare which happens to be a subsidiary group of Jonson and Jonson is all destined to face an investigation from the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee as decided by the Congressional Lawmakers. Reportedly, the committee chairman told the media that they have not been able to come to terms with what McNeil Consumer Healthcare and FDA had said regarding their decision to recall cold medicines Tylenol, Benadryl and Motrin.

Edolphus Towns told the media that the decision reflects the urgency to bring to notice the number of cases where the children have actually consumed the medicines which have been recalled already. As a matter of fact, Tylenol witnesses its third recall in a span of one year which is a serious blow to the reputation of the company. It was also said that when the company announced its decisions to recall At FDA called the very action to be a precautionary method to make sure all children’s stay safe and healthy.

The committee further told the media that whenever there happens a recall, it’s necessary to make sure to bring the matter into light as a part of the public service. The committee said that the investigation shall also deal with the methods that are being adopted by the manufacturing plant to produce the particular medicine prescribed for children. Needless to mention that the investigation also puts FDA’s inspection methods on trial which have not been able to make the committee members satisfied. The committee shall also listen to all arguments put forward by McNeil Consumer Healthcare as well as FDA as they go ahead with the case hearing in a few weeks from now.
