Congress welcomes railway budget in Jharkhand, BJP unhappy

Ranchi, Feb 25 (IANS) The opposition Congress Friday expressed happiness over the Railway Budget fulfilling a long-standing demand of Jharkhand for a new train from Ranchi to Pune, but the ruling BJP said it was not enough. “We thank the railway minister (Mamata Banerjee) for giving the Ranchi-Pune train. Thousands of students of Ranchi study in Pune and it will help them,” Shailesh Sinha, Jharkhand Congress spokesperson, told IANS.
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party expressed unhappiness over the railway budget.
“The railway budget has disappointed us. It has failed to come up to expectations of the people of the state. It speaks nothing about the pending six railway projects. Jharkhand needs trains for many states.
“Train connectivity from state capital Ranchi to other states is very poor,” said Pradeep Sinha, Jharkhand BJP spokesperson.
Jharkhand has got three new trains, including Ranchi-Pune and Ranchi-Asansol.
The common people have welcomed the Ranchi-Pune train but expressed unhappiness over the state not getting more trains to connect Jharkhand with other key cities like Ahmedabad, Haridwar, Bangalore and others.
