Permanent Secretary for Commerce Siripol Yodmuangcharoen (ศิริพล ยอดเมืองเจริญ) attends a meeting with the Agricultural Futures Exchange of Thailand (AFET) in preparation for the promotion of jasmine rice export in the second half of this year.
The permanent secretary presided over the meeting today at 10.30 hrs at the Ministry of Commerce. The meeting will discuss the ministry’s plan to send jasmine rice in the government’s stock to a futures market to stimulate the rice export in the last half of 2008. Thai jasmine rice has a high economic value and helps make Thai rice well-known worldwide.
Jasmine rice from the government’s stock will start to be sold in the futures market of AFET on July 14th this year.
