200086cm_fv_eng-1Feb 5, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Coffee Mate made by Nestle is quite popular among the Coffee drinkers as is clear from the huge response meted out to an online offer doled out by the company. The “Free Flavor Friday” offer of the company given on popular social networking site Facebook found a lot of takers. The campaign offered 100000 bottles of the drink without any cost to the Facebook users. All they required to do was hitting the Like button on the page and get access to a coupon. However, not all coffee loving Facebook users got the opportunity to get their bottle for free. Needless to say a massive number of Coffee lovers visited that page and soon the server could not tackle the load and the page went down. The hopeful visitors were disheartened and felt annoyed as well.

Coffee-Mate was prompt to come up with an written apology for the dampener and a post appeared to pacify the enraged viewers. The company said “Technical difficulties have not been our friend today. We’re so sorry for all the inconvenience this has caused you.” To compensate for the letdown the company readily offered 20000 more bottles for free. What it means is that some Coffee lovers still have a chance to get hold of their free bottle. Even though the freebies offer did not go off as smoothly as the company has wished it proves a point. With time more and more companies ares selecting social networking sites to endorse their products and gauge viewers mentality by giving free offers online.

Coffee-Mate chose Facebook because it is possibly the most popular social networking service. More companies are expected to follow suit in near future.
