Kolkata, May 18 (IANS) A delegation of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Wednesday met Trinamool supremo and West Bengal’s chief minister-in-waiting Mamata Banerjee to congratulate her on winning the assembly polls.
”It was a courtesy call to congratulate her (Banerjee) and to share the view that we can work together in the growth and development of the state,” said Saugat Mukheree, regional director, Eastern Region, CII.
A delegation of Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce (MCC) met Banerjee May 13.
West Bengal Governor M.K. Narayanan Monday formally invited the Trinamool Congress to form the next government in the state.
Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress and its allies won an overwhelming majority in the assembly elections, routing the Left Front.
Banerjee would be sworn in as the West Bengal chief minister Friday.
