Jan 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Leading US based car manufacturer, Chrysler has run into fresh trouble over a recall of some of its vehicles owing to break failure issue. The company has decided to recall around 24000 vehicles that include some of its popular jeeps and Dodge models. The suspected vehicles are prone to break failure owing to a part that has been found to be defective during tests. This comes just at a time when the company is trying to rebuild its image in the industry post bankruptcy. The brake booster rod retaining clip installed in some of the vehicles could be defective which can lead to accidents and mishaps. Besides some of the trucks may not have this accessory at all. Without this part no vehicle can apply brakes safely.
It is quite clear that Chrysler has not taken any chances and issued a notice in its website for the car owners to make them aware of the issue. So far the company has not received any complaint regarding failure of breaks in its vehicles over this issue. It has submitted a document in support of the claim to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This problem was found by the Chrysler factory workers, as per the document. A Heavy Duty Dodge Ram truck was being tested at the Saltillo plant of the company in Mexico where this problem was discovered. All models of the Ram truck have been recalled by Chrysler.
The company said in its statement that it is highly conscious of the safety of its customers and the quality of its vehicles. The problem has been found because of its high quality control systems, Chrysler claims.
