New York, Jan 19 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Auto-maker Chrysler is recalling about 24,000 Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles, due to defective brakes that may cause them to suddenly fail. There is a defective piece that might cause the brakes to stop working all of a sudden. The recall is going to affect 2010 Chrysler Sebrings, Dodge Avengers and Nitros, Jeep Libertys, Commanders, and Grand Cherokees, and 2009 and 2010 Rams.
In all, around 24,000 vehicles are part of the recall. Till now, Chrysler wasn’t aware of any accident of the consumers, because of the defective brakes. So far Chrysler is only aware of one incident involving the defective brake booster rod-retaining clip, and that happened at the company’s assembly plant in Mexico.
According to the reports, the recalled vehicles have a piece known as the brake booster rod-retaining clip. This is a very essential component, as the brakes function properly on account of this. And there are concerns that this brake booster rod-retaining clip, is defective in some vehicles so the brakes can fail all of a sudden. And the worst part is that, some Dodge Rams may have been built entirely without this piece.
If you have one of these vehicles, contact either the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 888-0327-4236, or Chrysler at 800-853-1403.
