China, UAE discuss ways to boost ties
October 23rd, 2010 - 1:02 am ICT by IANSBeijing, Oct 22 (IANS/WAM) China and the United Arab Emirates Friday discussed ways to bolster bilateral relations in various fields, especially in the areas of energy and investment.
At a meeting with Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping here, UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan hoped his visit to Beijing would further cement the ties between the two countries.
Sheikh Abdullah hailed the UAE-China relations whose foundations were laid by late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan during his visit to China in May 1990.
Xi expressed his country’s keenness to enhance relations with the UAE due to its distinguished position in the areas of economy and trade.
