China to build large offshore wind farm
January 14th, 2012 - 1:31 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Beijing, Jan 14 (IANS) China will construct an offshore wind farm with an installed capacity of 300 megawatts (MW) in Hebei province, making it the country’s largest such project.
The feasibility report for the wind farm located in Bohai sea has recently passed expert reviews that were commissioned by the National Energy Bureau (NEB), said Xinhua.
The wind farm is to be built with a total investment of 5.76 billion yuan ($914 million).
The project will begin operations before the end of 2015.
The county where the windfarm will be located has 125 km of coastline.
