China may turn EU’s biggest market
February 6th, 2012 - 7:33 pm ICT by IANSBeijing, Feb 6 (IANS) China may overtake the US as the European Union’s biggest export destination in 2012, according to the EU ambassador to China.
The conclusion is based on the current trade trends. EU is the biggest importer of Chinese goods as well as China’s biggest technology supplier, the China Daily quoted Markus Ederer as saying during a press conference Monday.
The EU had set no barriers for Chinese investment in the market and treats all companies equally, he said.
The EU welcomes China’s investment and the country’s “constructive approach” towards the EU debt crisis, said Ederer, while commenting on German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s visit to China.
