Chhattisgarh hikes dearness allowance of staff

Raipur, July 29 (IANS) The Chhattisgarh government Tuesday announced a six percentage point hike in the dearness allowance (DA) of the state government employees with effect from July 1. The revised DA rate stands at 47 percent. The decision will benefit about 250,000 employees. The enhanced DA will be paid in cash.

The state government also issued a circular Tuesday to heads of departments, divisional commissioners and district collectors to implement the order with immediate effect.

It also decided to increase the DA for pensioners from 41 percent to 47 percent with effect from July 1.
