Chhattisgarh expects over 11 percent GDP growth
February 25th, 2011 - 10:06 pm ICT by IANSRaipur, Feb 25 (IANS) The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Chhattisgarh is expected to grow by 11.57 percent during fiscal 2010-11, the economic survey presented in the state assembly Friday said. Presenting the survey, Chief Minister Raman Singh, who also holds the finance portfolio, said the state targets 4.08 percent growth in primary sector that includes agriculture, forestry, fishing and mining.
“The per capita income (net domestic product at current price) is estimated to be Rs.44,097 in 2010-11, showing a growth of 15.86 percent over previous year’s Rs.38,059. At constant prices, the per capita income is expected to go up to Rs.28,296 in 2010-11 as against Rs.25,835 in 2009-10,” the survey said.
The GDP at constant price is likely to be Rs.84,880 crore as per advance estimation. At current price, it is likely to Rs.1,29,718 crore in fiscal 2010-2011, showing a growth of 18.11 percent over the last fiscal year.
