Chhattisgarh disburses Rs.114 crore to civic bodies
June 26th, 2009 - 11:02 pm ICT by IANSRaipur, June 26 (IANS) The Chhattisgarh government Friday disbursed Rs.114.7 crore to local urban bodies for infrastructure development.
Urban Administration Minister Rajesh Munat told newsmen the state government had approved Rs. 117.3-crore expenditure this fiscal for infrastructure and civic facilities’ improvement in urban areas.
Friday’s disbursal was part of this programme.
“The amount will be spent by 10 municipal corporations, 28 municipal councils and 124 municipal panchayats purely for infrastructure development and civic facility improvement,” Munat said.
A major share of the amount will be for the bigger civic bodies of state capital Raipur, the three industrial cities of Korba, Bhilai and Raigarh, besides Rajnandgaon, Jagdalpur, Bilaspur and Ambikapur.
