Charter flight holiday packages launched to Bhutan
May 18th, 2011 - 7:43 pm ICT by IANSMumbai, May 18 (IANS) Aiming to promote unexplored destinations, online travel company MakeMyTrip.com Wednesday announced charter flight-inclusive holiday packages for Bhutan, a company official said.
Launched in association with the Tourism Council of Bhutan, this is the first such direct connectivity between Mumbai and Paro, Bhutan’s tourist destination, he claimed.
“With the overwhelming success of charter flights to Maldives and Andamans, it gives me great pleasure to announce direct charter flight packages to Bhutan,” said Anand Kandadai, senior vice president of MakeMyTrip.com.
“Bhutan is a key attraction for Indians, but has been unexplored due to limited connectivity. We want to offer and promote Paro as the next tourism highlight in Bhutan. Through this association we will be able to offer direct connectivity from Mumbai to Paro, without having to travel via any other city,” he added.
MakeMyTrip had earlier launched charter packages for Ladakh in 2010 followed by similar packages for Maldives, Andamans and Thailand.
The packages start at a price of Rs.36,999 per person from Mumbai and Rs.33,999 from New Delhi.
The first charter flight from Mumbai will take off Thursday and will be operational till June 24.
