Bangkok, 11 December, 2007 (PRD), The Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Pramon Suthivong (ประมนต์ สุธีวงศ์), believes the inflation rate next year will definitely be higher than this year, following the continual rises of oil and consumer product prices.
Mr. Pramon Suthivong (ประมนต์ สุธีวงศ์), says the prices of consumer products and oil will likely to elevate next year, and the inflation rate would also increase as a consequence. However, the level of the rate cannot be projected at the moment. Mr. Pramon is however optimistic that food prices will not be modified, and this factor will help prevent the inflation rate from escalating.
The Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Commerce discussed the prices of consumer products. After the meeting, both sides agreed that prices should not be adjusted unless entrepreneurs and business operators cannot shoulder the financial brunt any longer. The suspension on price modification is aimed to observe the direction of domestic inflation.
