CESC’s Q3 net profit down 33 percent
February 13th, 2012 - 6:42 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, Feb 13 (IANS) Power utility CESC Limited, an RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group company, Monday reported a 32.73 percent dip in its net profit for the quarter ended Dec 31, 2011, which stood at Rs.74 crore from Rs.110 crore during the same period a year ago.
The Kolkata-based company, however, recorded about 11 percent increase in its net sales at Rs.1,019 crore in the third quarter this fiscal, from Rs.921 crore in the same period last fiscal, according to a company release here.
The company’s other operating income declined to Rs.13 crore during the period under review from Rs.18 crore in the year-ago quarter.
The company said delay in obtaining tariff order for the year, coupled with steep increase in production costs, resulted in the drop in profit.
