Carnation joins hands with Fiat Group company
December 17th, 2009 - 8:29 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Kolkata, Dec 17 (IANS) The Jagdish Khattar-promoted Carnation Auto and a Fiat Group company, Magneti Marelli, have joined hands to deliver automotive services, technical know-how and diagnostic instrumentation for the premium car segment via the Carnation sales and service network in India.
It also aims to develop a nationwide business dealing in the procurement and distribution of after-market parts under their joint brands, a statement said here Thursday.
“The agreement will enable Carnation Auto to enhance its technical know-how and spare parts offerings, while Magneti Marelli will gain market insights from the multi-brand national network of Carnation Auto,” it said.
“Targeting the premium car segment, with the price range of Rs.1 million and above, the partnership is aimed at providing a broad range of solutions like periodic maintenance, mechanical repair and car detailing among other services to this segment,” ithe statement added.
Magneti Marelli is part of the Fiat Group and a key automotive systems and components supplier of all the leading car makers in world and the Fiat Group brands like Fiat, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Ferrari and Maserati.
Jagdish Khattar, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, joined Maruti Udyog Limited July 1, 1993 as director (marketing) and was appointed the company’s second managing director in 1999. After retiring in 2007, he decided to set up Carnation Auto - an independent multi-brand pan India sales and service network in the automobile sector.
