Mar 12 (Pen Men at Work): With the Toyota Prius accident inquiry going on, the US government seeks to mount its investigation to look into the defective vehicle makers as more than 8 million vehicles are recorded with brake and accelerator problems.

While the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration obsoletes the technology of 1970’s in checking the vehicle safety, Toyota given consent in repairing more than 200000 vehicles with oil hose problem as a part of their service campaign.

But taking the Prius accident as an example the authority demands vehicle owners to take a close look at their recalled vehicles from Toyota. Meanwhile, defending all the allegations, Toyota claims that the accident scenario has been hyped up by some of its rival lobbies and not all of their vehicles are faulty.

Allegations have also risen against the government agency’s role in the matter of checking vehicles, as according to agency officials, a $132 million budget for the agency is not adequate to run the regulations for motor vehicles in US.

However, talking on the safety measures the entire automobile industry replies that cars are made with utmost safety technologies these days and which resulted in lesser accidents in comparison to huge number of vehicles on road.
