Mar 12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The increasing number of accidents has been one of the greatest causes of concern for the authorities and they have adopted several measures for checking the number of accidents. Keeping in mind the increasing number of accidents as well as recall of Toyota Prius cars, the authorities are considering about some new car safety rules. According to the reports, the crash of the Toyota Prius cars in New York has raised the eyebrows of the federal regulators and they are worried about the safety of the cars.
It has been reported that the Toyota Prius car crashes indicated that the driver could not control the car as the vehicle was getting accelerated on its own. The reports also indicated that the drivers did not have any control on the car in the driveway or the road and the vehicle finally hit the stone wall. Problems in different models of the Toyota cars had forced the company to issue multiple recalls and now the laws might become harder not only for them but also for other vehicle manufacturing companies.
According to the reports, David Strickland, the head of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration [NHTSA] considers that the organization should become strict about the safety standards of the vehicles that is followed at present. The comments of David Strickland might also make the federal regulators to reconsider the car safety rules that are observed in the present days and the laws might become more difficult for assuring people’s safety. However, some reports indicated that the regulators would require more fund if they want to become stricter in investigating the defects of the vehicles.
