The much talked about Cap And Trade policy that was under discussion in the US Senate for a long time was passed by the US Senate after its fate got decided by voting. After the bill entered the US national legislature backed by the US president Barrack Obama, it created much debate in the House as the Republican’s opposed the policy owing to the fact that the projects that will be implemented if the policy gets passed, will affect the country’s economic condition. The overall votes of both the Republicans and the Democrats in favor of the policy was 219 while 211 voted against the bill. Only three members of both the parties abstained from voting.
The Cap and Trade is a policy that protects human heath conditions through the prevention of large amounts of emission from different sources that pollute the environment. These sources have to gather emission allowances and had to comply to a strategy that includes meeting a required reduction in pollution, checking pollution control besides others. The policy as a result will lead to more protection of the environment with less expenditure, broad pollution reduction in regions, incentives for helping the progress of environmental protection and penalty for the reverse. Emission monitoring, Acid Rain program, Clean Air Interstate rule, NOx Budget Training program are some of the projects that come under the Cap and Trade Policy.
US president Obama in February had said, “we have for decades said that our survival depends on finding new sources of energy. Yet we import more oil today than before.” As it faced debated initially, its now to see how well this policy works for USA.

It has become a sad day in the history of the United States with the passing of cap and trade bill. The 4th of July celebrations will not have the same meaning of freedom. Instead, we now enter the new age of the old Karl Marx (Obama) Dictatorship of government. Our leaders refuse to listen to the people. It time to stop paying our payroll income tax until the Government starts doing what is in the best interest for the United States. This is the first time in my life I feel there is a very demonic entity is now running the United States. We need to ask God for forgiveness of taking his name out of our country and losing his blessing. Let God Bless America once again.

This is nothing more than an attempt to TAX the producers of this country into a non-competitive position that we may never return from.
Why would we impose this tax - thats what it is a tax- on our businesses while China and India are exempt from these rules?
Were doomed and if you voted for these jerks who are pushing this youre a commie.
Oh - ? Hi moderator …. if you are about to nix this comment then youre the biggest commie of all. WEhat happened to the freedom of speech? Oh , not on YOUR blog eh you liberal POS.

This is a clear act of treason.
This country’s manufacturing base has been systematically dismembered and given away to the COMMUNIST chinese.
This will put the final nail in our coffin.
Thanks to communist obama and all the morons that voted for him.

Agreed, this a sad day in America!! After serving the country I love for 10 years, for the first time in my life I am now wondering what it is all for. Somewhere along the way, politicians forgot the fact that they are the employees of the American people, they are there to serve us, not the other way around. Not to mention that this (global warming) is all based on a disproven theory, and is only being used to grab power, line their pockets and strip our freedoms!! This should be America’s wake up call, anyone in congress that voted yes on this bill should be voted out of congress next term!! Americans need to vote in responsible stewards of the people! Shameful!!!

I think it is time for every American who really cares about the fate of our beloved country to work on voting these self- absorbed,self-centered and self-righteous clowns out. Maybe new people will realize it is the people of this country they WORK for not the other way around.

This is the begining of the end for America’s free market system. I take that back, that began when we elected a neo-marxist nutjob for a president. This bill is going to criple the American economy and crush small businesses accros the country. Too bad they can’t go begging for a bailout. Big business is poised for a hostile take over, and the white house is going to be the ones funding it. Obama promised change, and he didn’t lie. Wake up and look around you. The government is gaining control of everything. Insurance, industry, energy, entertainment. Once the snow ball starts, there will be no stopping it.

Most people think, if I don’t look at or talk to the bully, he’ll leave me alone. The bully never goes away unless you do something. I have noticed in this country that most people don’t want to do any thing. They won’t make phone calls. They won’t send letters. They won’t send e-mails. Their thoughts are something like this…”As long as the bully leaves me alone, I’m not going to do any thing.” But this bully (government) is not going to leave us alone. They are taking from us (the so-called middle class) daily. Our freedoms are disappearing by the minute. Most people are more interested in doing what pleases them instead of what’s going on around them. I’m not saying having fun is wrong; but when you see your country going to hell in a hand basket, don’t you think you should try to do something. Even if it’s just making a five minute phone call. This cap and trade is nothing but a farce. Isn’t it a joke that we the tax payers, are paying these politicians to cut our throats.

You may want to revise this - as it DID NOT pass the Senate - it passed the HOUSE. There are two legislative bodies… it now goes to the Senate for vote.. hopefully these idiots will vote it down but nothing surprises me anymore. I just want to say your welcome to China and India because our jobs are all headed your way.

I just wanted to say thank you to the 44 Dems. and the 168 Reps. that voted against the cap & trade. I just hope it fails in the senate.
