adMiami, Feb 8, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Among all the commercials that got aired during the Super Bowl, one that was really innovative and truly eye-catching was the “Call Barney Stinson” advertisement. Hilarious and imaginative, the advertisement managed to grab quite a few eyeballs, especially among the fans of the popular show. Of course, it also managed to rake up quite a decent amount of publicity for the show “How I Met Your Mother.” It is being speculated that the airing of the advertisement during the Super Bowl might have some connection to the show itself, and that it is really a promotional for some special episode.

The advertisement shows the most popular character from “How I Met Your Mother” Barney Stinson, played by Neil Patrick Harris, sitting among the crowd, holding up a placard with the words “Hey Ladies, Call Barney Stinson,” with the numbers 1-877-987-6401 below it. The initials of the three words, “Call Barney Stinson,” are in capitals and stressed, so that it forms CBS, the name of the network in which the comedy show is aired.

The advertisement cashes in on the character of Barney Stinson in the show “How I Met Your Mother,” a womanizer. A call to the number given in the banner treats the caller to a great recording in the voice of Neil Patrick Harris, portraying the character of Barney Stinson. It begins with the receiver cheering at the players, and then goes on to mouth some pick up lines like “you sound really special” and “feeling a connection here.” The recording ends with Barney Stinson fixing up a meeting at the fictitious MacLaren’s Bar in 2016.
