CAG to train foreigners
September 11th, 2010 - 8:02 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 11 (IANS) The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India will Monday launch a professional training programme on audit and accounting for 45 participants from 36 countries, a statement said Saturday.
The Comptroller and Auditor General of India Vinod Rai will inaugurate the 96th international training programme on performance audit, the official statement said.
The CAG has been organising international training programmes in different areas of auditing and accounting since 1979.
Ninety-five international training programmes have been organized so far and 2,815 middle and senior level officers from supreme audit institutions of 121 countries have participated in these training programmes, the statement said.
Most of the trainees are funded under Indian technical and economic cooperation and Special Commonwealth Assistance for Africa Programme and the Colombo Plan, run by the external affairs ministry.
Georgia will participate in the programme for the first time.
