Cadbury’s Swiss Move Will Cost UK Millions in Tax
December 7th, 2010 - 3:30 am ICT by Angela Kaye MasonDec 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The commitment by Kraft to safeguard Cadbury jobs in Birmingham has been questioned by the Former Business Secretary, Lord Mandelson, after Kraft approved the plans to move part of the Cadbury business to Switzerland.
Kraft, which is a United States firm, took over the Bournville based chocolateer earlier the year. Now they have expresses that they plan to move the key high level roles to a location in Zurich, which would save the American company millions in UK taxes.
Those plans have caused fear in the hearts of UK politicians, unions, and workers that Kraft will simply cut the British jobs as they did when they purchased another chocolate maker, Terry’s and moved from York to a location in Poland.
