burger-king Miami, Jan 24 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Burger King company has announced that it plans to sell beer too, with its famous burgers at their about-to-be opened South Beach’s ‘Whopper Bar’. This bar is all set to open in February. And this outlet will have the same burgers and fries, but they would be paired with a Budweiser instead of the regular non-alcoholic soft drink. Depending on the response that this Whooper Bar gets, some more such bars are planned in major cities such as New York, Los Angeles and even the sin-city Las Vegas.

The burger and beer combo will cost a consumer around $7.99, which is 2 dollars more than the burger-&-soft drink combo. The beer would be available in cans and would also include Anheuser-Busch and Miller/Coors products. “The Burger King customer is aging, so they’re just trying to grow up with the customer,” Linda Lipsky, a restaurant consultant, told USA Today. However there are others, who are not in favor of this move such as the 58 year old Arnold Lyons, of the Bronx, “There’s already enough trouble without Burger King selling beer. You don’t take your kids to a bar.”

This is quite a new concept for US, even though internationally the Burger Kings in Germany, Venezuela and Singapore provide beer with the burgers.
