“BSES Delhi is in discussion with NTPC and bankers for resolution of the issue,” the company said in a statement.
“BSES stands committed to its 28 lakh consumers and will make all efforts to ensure no inconvenience is caused to our customers.”
The assurance follows a notice served by NTPC on BSES Delhi demanding outstanding dues for supply of power, and renewal of the letter of credit.
BSES Delhi has been given time till Sep 7 to resolve the matter.
Otherwise, NTPC says it has the sanction as per its agreement with BSES Delhi to “regulate” the supply of power for 90 days and subsequently even that to terminate the agreement.
