British Petroleum (BP) To Pay A Fourth Bill Of $99.7 Million

bp2July 14, (THAINDIAN NEWS) There is no doubt about the fact that along with the Gulf of Mexico coastal area residents and the marine life, the British Petroleum is also facing its biggest crisis ever. After paying three bills amounting to a whooping total of $122.2 million in full, the British petroleum now has to part with another $99.7 million to pay a bill that the Obama Administration has sent to it. The Deepwater Horizon Incident Joint Information Center issued a statement in which it said that the Obama administration has sent a fourth bill to British petroleum and other responsible parties relating to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill that is still spewing gallons of oil into the sea every day.

The fourth $99.7 million bill is related to the response and clean up drive that is being carried out in the Gulf of Mexico area by federal agencies. As per media sources, the government regularly sends bill to British Petroleum and other responsible parties for the cost that the federal on-scene coordinators bear to carry on the federal, state and also the local response efforts. At the same time the payment of the bill will ensure that the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund is filled on an ongoing basis.

The United States government said in a statement that it hold British Petroleum financially responsible for all costs that is related to the oil spill. It includes not only the effort to stop the leak and reduce its spread but also actions to save the affected marine life and other damages brought by it. The money acquired from the payment of the bill will help to fill the $1.5 billion Oil Liability Trust Fund.
