British Airways strike London, May 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The British Airways is set to face a strike all over again. The officials at the British Airways are trying their very best to abort the strike. They are also planning to get an injunction from the high court, so that they can stop the cabin crew from going on a 20-day strike. The strike is expected to begin from Tuesday. The Unite trade union and the top management officials of the British airways tried their very best to reach a mutually satisfactory agreement, and the frantic attempts are still on. It remains to be seen if the top honchos of the airline can thwart the strike or not, and that too on the basis of the high court injunction or the negotiations.

It ought to be mentioned that the British Airways had reportedly suffered losses of over $32 million in the 3-day strike period, in March 2010. The company said that on the first and the second day of the strike it operated around 78% of the long-haul flights, i.e. about 273 flights. And it operated just 50% of the short-haul flights, i.e. 442 flights on the first two days of the strike. So after suffering such massive losses in the past, they are sure going to move very hard, to thwart the strike bid.
