British Airways Authorities To Meet Unite Officials

London, Dec. 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The strike called by the cabin crew members in protest of some of the policies of the British Airways authorities has annoyed the authorities. According to the reports, the higher officials of the carrier is determined to pause this strike inthe festive season and save the company from incurring huge loss amidst the adverse economic condition. Official sources, in an interview to the media stated that Willie Welsh, British Airways’ PLc CEO, will have a discussion with the officials of the cabin crew union, Unite, so that they can prevent the strike that is scheduled from December 22, 2009.
The officials are really worried about the strike that will continue for twelve days and so they have decided to meet the union leaders and come to a positive solution. According to the reports of the union’s officials, the general secretaries of the of union are pleased about the decision of the company to enter a discussion. The general secretaries of the union, Derek Simpson and Tony Woodley will meet the officials to negotiate the disputes and call off the strike.
As per the reports, the officials of British Airways are giving importance to the meeting as it will decide the fate of the flights scheduled from December 22, 2009 to January 2, 2010. To stop the strike and save the passengers from experiencing inconveniences in their journey, the company has opted for several other measures too. They have appealed to the court for issuing an injunction that will not allow the cabin crews to go on strike in the festive season.
