toyota Washington, Feb 3 (THAINDIAN NEWS) There seems to be no end in sight for the troubles surrounding Toyota. There have been numerous recalls, even production has been stopped of quite a few popular models, and now another problem surfaces. There is a braking problem with the Pruis models. There have been many reported problems with it, and the Japanese transport ministry has asked the company to look into the matter.

Pruis is said to be Toyota’s highest profit vehicle, and there have been more than 20 reported cases of the brake problem. Numerous owners say that the brakes on the third-generation, 2010 Toyota Pruis can malfunction out of the blue, with at least 20 complaints filed so far with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The 39-year-old Robert Becker was using his Pruis to go to work, he braked when he hit a pothole, but instead he had the ’sensation of losing control of the vehicle.’ ‘It scared the hell out of me. I wasn’t sure I could stop in time,’ he said, adding that it is a persistent problem, and has repeated itself a number of times since then. Another owner says that, ‘Initially, I convinced myself I must have been letting up on the brake when I hit the bump, but when this same thing happened three days ago on slippery, icy roads, I knew for 100 percent certain I had not let up on the brake.’
