Bollywood out in strength on opening day of LFWOctober 21st, 2008 - 12:22 am ICT by IANS
Mumbai, Oct 20 (IANS) The opening day of the Lakme Fashion Week witnessed a huge turnout of Bollywood celebrities here Monday. Madhur Bhandarkar, along with the cast of his “Fashion” turned out for designer Narendra Kumar, with Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranawat and Mugda Godse walking the ramp.
“The leading ladies in my film presented three different themes created by Narendra Kumar,” said Bhandarkar. Kumar has designed the costumes for the film.
Jaya Bachchan was spotted in the audience for young designer Nachiket Barve, who based his spring/autumn collection on the theme of flowers.
“Jaya ji is a person whose comments matter me a lot. Hence I had invited her and I am very happy that she came to see my show. She has given me good feedback and I am happy about it,” said Barve.
Suneil Shetty, his wife Manna Shetty, Aashish Choudhury and Neha Uberoi were present to promote their forthcoming movie “EMI”
While Aashish Choudhury and Neha Uberoi could not make it to the ramp, Shetty along with his wife and Aashish watched the Nikhil-Shantanu show.
Other celebrities seen during the show were Suchitra Pillai, Suchitra Krishnamoorti and Mandira Bedi.
Bedi will walk the ramp for designer Archana Kochhar on the concluding day of the fashion week Friday.
The other designers who displayed their collections Monday were Stefan Hafner, Asmita Barwa, Ruchika Mehta, Sudhir-Tapash, Nikasha, Falguni and Shane Peacock, Deepika Gehani and Krishna Mehta.
