Washington, Sept 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) After years of delay, Boeing has finally delivered the first batch of the planes 787 Dreamliner. The first batch of the planes was delivered to All Nippon Airways Co. during a ceremony in Washington.

The delivery of the planes marked an important milestone for the American plane manufacturer. Boeing is in fierce competition with its European rival Airbus. The top spot in terms of volume of planes sold has been for Airbus since 2003.

Boeing is assuring that the Dreamliner will provide the ultimate flight experience for passengers. The chief of the Dreamliner plane, Scott Fancher, assured that, “We’ve developed a set of technologies that will serve as the backbone of our airplanes for the next 30 years.”

The senior vice president of All Nippon in charge of North, Middle and South America, Satoru Fujiki told reporters that, “We are quite confident in Boeing’s ability” to meet delivery targets as production ratchets up.”

Fujiki refused to reveal the financial details when the reporters asked for that information. The planes were ordered in 2007 and Boeing struggled to keep its deadline for three years because of design challenges. There were penalty clauses in the contract for each time that the delivery of the planes’ was delayed.
