Boeing completes 747-8 freighter taxi tests
February 7th, 2010 - 2:35 pm ICT by BNO NewsEVERETT, WASHINGTON (BNO NEWS) — Boeing completed taxi tests on the first 747-8 Freighter on Saturday, the company said.
With Chief Pilot Mark Feuerstein at the controls, the airplane reached a top seed of approximately 90 knots or 103.5 mph, according to Boeing.
“The airplane performed well,” said Mo Yahyavi, 747 program vice president and general manager of Boeing Commercial. He added that based on early indications, the airplane is ready to fly.
The first flight of the 747-8 Freighter is scheduled for Monday, February 8. There are also plans for a passenger version.
