boardwalk-empire The success of the HBO series “Boardwalk Empire” seems to have inspired some serious profit making. Dennis Gomes is planning to create the magic and beauty of the roaring twenties with “Boardwalk Empire” casino. Resorts Atlantic city will adopt the twenties theme, that will have cocktail servers, bellhops and others dressed in costumes of that period. The drinks and the music too will remind people of the era. Dennis Gomes is buying the hotel resort with developer Morris Bailey. Resort Atlantic City was the first casino to open outside Nevada. As it was built during the 1920’s, the place conforms to the design of that period.

The casino is being reportedly sold as its previous owners have fallen behind with their mortgage payments. Dennis Gomes said that the 1920’s were more than a period in the pages of history, it defined and shaped their nation. He said that it was “fun, adventurous and exciting, it was a period where people let themselves loose to give way to a lifestyle where entertainment was king”. The idea is to turn the resort in a place for fun and entertainment while ensuring that it survives in an increasingly competitive market.

The proposed changes will come into effect in the month of December when the sale is approved by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission. The sale amount is reportedly $ 35 million, the lowest price ever paid for a casino in New Jersey. The Casino will have drinks heavy on whiskey, which was prohibited during the period, and the redecoration is seen as a tribute to the history of casinos.
