Biplav Kumar takes charge as Paradip Port Trust chairman
July 1st, 2010 - 8:59 pm ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, July 1 (IANS) Paradip Port Trust’s Deputy Chairman Biplav Kumar has taken over as the port’s new chairman.
Kumar took charge from K. Raghuramaiah, who retired June 30, a statement issued by the port said Thursday.
A member of Indian railway traffic service (IRTS), Kumar joined as deputy chairman of the Paradip Port Trust (PPT) May 26, 2008. Prior to that he had worked in various capacities in railway departments, the statement said.
Paradip Port, at Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district, some 100 km from here, is one of the major ports of India serving the eastern and central parts of the country.
