Bihar-origin icons to discuss development at conclave

Patna, Dec 18 (IANS) Nearly 100 people of Bihar origin who made their mark in different fields in India and abroad will gather here Saturday for a two-day conclave to explore opportunities for playing effective roles in the state’s development.
The overall objective of the conclave was to bring captains of industry and trade, policy makers, scholars, development practitioners and social activists on a common platform to discuss ways to accelerate the pace of socio-economic change in Bihar, said Ajay Kumar, CEO of Bihartimes.com, which is organising the conclave.

“The overall intention is to identify and bring such faces into focus and credit those accomplishments which brought fame to the state,” he said.

Filmmaker Arvind Sinha, artist Subodh Gupta, and vice president of the World Bank Institute Sanjay Pradhan are among those expected to attend the conclave.
