BGR Energy’s profit jumps 54 percent
January 30th, 2010 - 8:40 pm ICT by IANSChennai, Jan 30 (IANS) City-based power sector engineering, procurement and construction company BGR Energy Systems Ltd has announced a 54 percent jump in net profit for the third quarter of 2009-10 ended Dec 31 and a 34 percent growth in turnover over the comparable period the previous year.
According to BGR Energy, the company closed the third quarter with a turnover of Rs.635.14 crore and a net profit of Rs.41.91 crore as against Rs.472.43 crore and Rs.27.20 crore posted in this period last year.
Company chairman and managing director B.G.Raghupathy, expressing satisfaction at the results, said the growth is for the seventh successive quarter.
BGR Energy has an order book position of Rs.11,609 crore as on Dec 31, 2009 to be executed over a three year time frame.
Most of these contracts are from state-owned power generation companies who have achieved financial closure and the company also successfully arranged working capital requirements to carry on the work.
