Bernard Madoff Fraud Case Scandal

The Bernard Madoff case that started from December 2008 and since been under the court trials took a turn on Saturday when Denny Chin, in charge of the Mardoff’s criminal case ordered the convict to surrender $170 billion thus dismissing all interest of Madoff in the real estate, investment and other property.
Mardoff who owns residential properties at Manhattan, New York Long Island has agreed to the order and have decided to pay the money by selling the above properties besides his expensive boat, trailers, Mercedez-benz, Volkswagen cars, his $39,000 worth piano and $65,000 worth silverware that will be also be sold that will generate the money to repay victims of the Ponzi scheme that was worth $65 billion.
Though originally the non-executive chairman of the NASDAQ Stock Exchange, Madoff or rather Bernie was better known as a fraud who had a criminal complaint done by his sons for cheating a number of investors that fell prey to his fraud Ponzi Scheme. The scheme enabled return of investors money from their own money or from other investors rather than the usual process where returns are paid from profit. He was also the founder of the wall street firm Bernard L. Mardoff Investment Securities LLC in 1960 and was attached to it till his arrest last year.
Since pleading guilty in March, Mardoff has been imprisoned at the New York federal jail and after assessing his criminal records he may face an imprisonment of 150 years. However though his wife Ruth will not face trial but major property, worth billions of dollars under her name will be seized by the court.
