Beijing to help Dhaka build permanent fair centre

Dhaka, Dec 29 (IANS) Bangladesh will begin work on a permanent fair centre in the national capital for which most of the financial assistance will come from China.
China will provide Taka 2.22 billion ($32 million approx) from out of Taka 2.65 billion, Commerce Minister Faruk Khan said Tuesday, United News of Bangladesh (UNB) news agency reported.
Dhaka is geared up for the 15th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) that will be opened on New Year’s day by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The US, Thailand, China, Turkey, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Iran, South Korea and Hong Kong will showcase their products in 28 pavilions, mini-pavilions and stalls, reported Star Online, website of The Daily Star newspaper.
