Bangalore bus travel costlier from Sunday
June 26th, 2011 - 12:27 am ICT by IANSBangalore, June 25 (IANS) Commuting in state-run buses in Bangalore will be costlier from midnight Saturday, following Friday’s hike in diesel prices, it was announced.
“The hike is between Re.1 and Rs.2 for different stages,” the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) said in a press statement.
The daily pass, which allows unlimited travel, will cost Rs.5 more, it said.
The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), which manages bus service within the state and to neighbouring states, is also expected announce a hike in its fares soon.
“We are working on the revised fares and will announce soon,” a KSRTC spokesperson told IANS.
