Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh), August 2 (ANI): Activists of Bajrang Dal ransacked dwellings of people, whom they claim to be of Bangladeshi origin, in Ayodhya on Saturday.

The activists went on rampage and destroyed the huts of the alleged Bangladeshis.

The population in these dwellings is said to have risen to at least hundred in a short span of one year.

The activists alleged that the population of the Bangladeshis in the country is raising at a fast rate because of the Muslim appeasement policies of the government.

Today there are three crore Bangladeshis in India . But the Kashmiri Hindus are forced to live as refugees in their own country. They (Bangladeshis) are allowed to live because they are Muslims. This is nothing but an apparent case of Muslim appeasement, said Jan Kesarvani, Uttar Pradesh state coordinator, Bajrang Dal.

On the other hand the authorities said that the dwellers belong to Assam .

They (the activists of Bajarang Dal) have been told that the police is verifying details about them (the people of unauthorized habitat near the city) and If they will be Bangladeshis then we will deport them as we have instruction for to do so. But our investigation reveals that many of them are native of Assam ‘’s Barpeta region. They (the activists) have done wrong, therefore we have arrested them, said R.K.S. Rathore, Senior Superintendent of police, Ayodhya.

After the recent blasts in Jaipur and initial investigations pointing fingers towards Bangladeshi militant outfit Harkat-ul-Jihad al Islami, Bangladeshi refugees bear the brunt of such protests. (ANI)
