Bajaj Auto sales rise 17 percent in April
May 2nd, 2011 - 3:34 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 2 (IANS) Leading two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto Monday reported a 17 percent rise in sales during April at 367,309 units, compared to 313,472 units sold in the corresponding period of the previous year.
Bajaj also recorded its highest ever exports at 158,422 units, growing 39 percent as against 113,911 units exported in the previous year.
Motorcycle sales grew 17 percent at 322,235 vehicles as compared to the 276,095 units sold in the same time period of the previous year.
The motorcycle sales for April were reported to be the second highest number of sales made by the company, owing to the large demand for its popular Pulsar and Discover models range.
The commercial vehicle segment saw sales rise by 21 percent to 45,074 units in the month under review.
Share of the company were ruling 1.87 percent lower at Rs.1,435.40 in the afternoon on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
