Bahrain Air to operate flights to Kozhikode
April 2nd, 2009 - 7:58 pm ICT by IANSKozhikode, April 2 (IANS) Bahrain Air, the first low-cost carrier in Bahrain, Thursday commenced operations here, its second Indian destination after launching flights to Kochi last May.
There will be three flights every week to and from Kozhikode, similar to that for Kochi.
“There are around 300,000 expatriate Indians in Bahrain and a large number of them are from Kerala. Thus, our service to Kozhikode is an expansion into the lucrative market of India, mainly the southern region,” Bahrain Air director of corporate planning and commercial operations B.K Majmudar said Thursday.
The airline will operate the A320 Airbus, which has 12 premium class seats and 150 economy seats.
Bahrain Air started operations in February last year.
