New Delhi, April 6 (IANS) German luxury car maker Audi sold 162 cars last month in India, up 55.7 percent from 104 vehicles it sold in March 2008, the company said Monday.
The company has sold 384 vehicles in the Indian market in the first three months of 2009.
“Our consistent growth in India demonstrates the growing acceptance of the Audi brand. Our market presence is rapidly increasing and Audi is looking to sustain this growth rate in the coming months,” Audi India managing director Benoit Tiers said.
The company, which currently sells six models in the Indian market, will soon launch sports utility vehicle (SUV) Q5 and the new variant of the existing luxury sedan A6.
“We will soon introduce the new Audi A6 and our performance SUV - Audi Q5 in India. This endorses our commitment to the Indian market by offering cars with superior technology, performance and great value,” Tiers said.
