Assocham-UNIDO deal for two agro-clusters in Bengal

Kolkata, Oct 9 (IANS) Industry body Assocham has entered into a pact with the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation(UNIDO) for setting up food and agro-clusters in two West Bengal districts.
“We have signed an agreement with UNIDO for setting up food and agro related clusters in two districts in public-private-partnership model. Now we have asked Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to identify the two districts where the clusters can come up,” said Assocham secretary general D.S. Rawat.
As per the deal, UNIDO will take care of the methodology and techonology, besides providing financial assistance.
“The state government has to look after providing land and infrastructure,” he said.
