chyDetroit, Sep 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Daimler AG and Cerberus have been sued by more than 450 Chrysler bosses who have claimed that they have lost 100 million dollars in pensions after the company filed for bankruptcy. The bosses who have sued the company include stalwarts like ex-chairman Lee Iacocca. The class action lawsuit was filed on Friday and the plaintiffs claim that Daimler has failed to protect its employees supplemental pension. Charges have also been brought against Cerberus that acquired Chrysler in 2007.

Confirming the suit filing by the Chrysler bosses, one of the lawyers Sheldon Miller said to media sources that the supplemental pensions of the plaintiffs were not transferred to the new Chrysler during the restructuring of the company back in 2009. The lawyer held that due to the fault each of the complaints have lost a large percentage of their earned retirement pensions. According to Sheldon Miller, Daimler AG could have taken the same step that they had taken back for the active executives in 2005. At that time the company had converted pensions into annuities. However, this time nothing as such was done reportedly.

Sheldon Miller held that none of the plaintiffs want the company to fail. She maintained that “Everybody involved in this suit loves that company” and wants to see it rising new heights. Sheldon Miller asserted that all those people who have filed the lawsuit against the company want to assure that similar hardships would not be faced by the current employees of Chrysler. No comments on the suit was made by Daimler. A company spokesman said that he could not comment on the matter as he has not seen the court documents.
