apple-iPad CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA (BNO NEWS) – Apple on Tuesday announced that it has sold more than three million iPads, just 80 days after its introduction to the United States.

“People are loving iPad as it becomes a part of their daily lives,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We’re working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more people around the world, including those in nine more countries next month.”

Apple’s iPad, although initially receiving bad reviews, was still able to impact the technology market. On Monday, Apple sold its three millionth iPad to mark day number 80 of its successful launching.

Users can browse the web, read and send email, enjoy and share photos, watch HD videos, listen to music, play games, read ebooks, among other things, through iPad’s Multi-Touch user interface.

At 0.5 inches thin, weighing just 1.5 pounds, and delivering up to 10 hours of battery life, the iPad has now had over 11,000 applications specifically developed for it. However, more than 225,000 applications can be run with the iPad, including apps already purchased for the iPhone or iPod touch.
